|Counyty First Lady Mrs Mruttu|
In a forum organized by the VSO jitolee group, an NGO based in TAITA TAVETA, today (15th April), Her Excellency the county first lady Mrs. Hope Mruttu made a key note address on Gender Based Violence-(GBV). Vivid in his speech throughout the session was the case of Taita Taveta County. Lady Joyce, one of the senior project officers gave her introductory remarks recounting the past involvements of VSO within the county.

Later on the VSO team welcomed the special guest of the Day, Her Excellency Madam Mruttu Known for the brilliant SAVE OUR QUEENS project, Mrs. Mrutttu gave lengthy narrations on the existence various cases of GBV within Taita Taveta County, highlighting Wesu villages and other remote locations within Wundanyi and Taveta.

She declared her clear interest in preventing the above as much as possible, urging all in attendance to ambassadors of change even at individual capacities ensuring that the gospel against GBV is preached fare and wide. The first lady in her address also gave a case of economic violence that often emanate from GBV perpetrators giving examples of cases where the ladies are often ignored during land divisions and inheritance .
She reminded that both male and female disserved equal opportunities in our society Organizers at the even noted the cases of GBV were more than just the usual domestic violence, citing other existing forms that are unknown to many such as emotional GBV, psychological GBV among others. In her conclusion she promised full support to curb GBV under her flagship project of SAVE OUR QUEENS. The forum culminated with final remarks with the director of Trade and Community Affairs .Mr. Richard Kibengo
