Eliud Kipchoge breaks 2-hour marathon record #Ineos159

Today the 12th of October 2019 history has been made not by any athlete but a Kenyan based athlete Eliud Kipchoge in Vienna in a race that will forever be known as #Ineos159. Eliud Kipchoge or should we call him King Choge as netizens are doing has broken a record by achieving the impossible of running a 42 km run in under 120 min. after a great run Mr. Kipchoge managed to finish the race with a spectacular record of 1:59:40. Spectators from all over the world could not help but cheer the running legend as some tuned in to YouTube to watch history being made. Thousands of people, Austrians, Kenyans turned up to cheer the athlete. Nobody thought this would ever come to happen but ‘no human is limited’ as Eliud Kipchoge says. He proved to us that the only limit at achieving anything in life is yourself.

If there was a day Kenyans depicted unity and love was today. From the tweets, to whatsapp statuses and even Facebook we could see that what mattered at the moment was not only supporting him but also celebrating a brother. Surprised is what we all were when he managed to break his own record of 2:01:39 but it proved to us that when we offer our support to others they definitely exhibit their best. Ineos and the world offered Eliud Kipchoge just what he needed to get out of his comfort zone.

We are proud as a country and we are proud of Eliud Kipchoge. So why don’t you go ahead and break your own record? In whatever you do, do it diligently.

But Kenyans don’t we all need an Eliud Kipchoge day?
