Governor Granton Samboja has called on political leaders across the country to desist from 2022 politics and instead focus on the development of the Nation.
Speaking during a launch of an education funds kit at ACK St. James Mwatate last Sunday, the county CEO called out on politicians opposed to President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga’s handshake terming them as enemies of cohesion and unity.
“We want peace and stability. The most important thing for now is development and service delivery to Kenyans. Let us shun 2022 politics and focus on the development agenda for Kenyan people.” He said.
Addressing the congregation on security matters, Samboja said his administration will be hosting a joint security meeting with other political leaders led by Senator Johnes Mwaruma, county assembly leadership and the provincial administration to discuss matters of security among other issues.
Senator Johnes Mwaruma termed the move by the National Assembly to deny counties shillings 10B as a blow to devolution.
Mwatate Mp Andrew Mwadime requested the Anglican Church to release funds from KENHA -Kenya National Highways Authority which were paid as compensation during the construction of the Taveta -Voi road, adding that he will be forced to table a motion to discuss the matter in the National Assembly.
Present during the church function were MCAs Led by majority leader Jason Tuja, CCO youth, sports and culture Silvanus Mwakoma among others.
