Has Alikiba lost his Bongo touch?

As Diamond’s Wasafi festival in Nairobi was filled to capacity, Alikiba on the other hand had a hard time during his New Year concert at the Mombasa Sports Club.

On the 26th of December 2018, Kenyans turned up in great numbers to grace the Wasafi festival in Mombasa. Five days later, on the eve of 2019, very few people turned up for Alikiba’s concert. It took the intervention of the Mombasa County Boss Hassan Joho to get people to attend the concert.

Joho advised his county residences to turn up and get in for free and use their national identity cards as gate passes. Joho told crowds to rush to the venue as he was paying for them to enjoy Alikiba perform live. This was quite a shock especially if we remember that Alikiba was a household name a decade ago, ladies loved him and men envied him.

The question in everyone’s mind is, has the prince of bongo fallen off his pedestal? Is he losing his touch?
