On Saturday, 15th of December, at Vacani resort, during the 2nd Annual Awards Gala of the Taita Taveta Professional Women’s Association (TTWPA), Kajire Girls, often referred to as the fantastic four bagged yet another award under the Innovation Category;A category equally contested by sister school, Murray Girls’ High School.
This follows their brilliant innovation dubbed the Ndovu Kit under the ANISAN PROJECT initiated by the young team of innovators earlier this year. Alongside the girls was their Principal Mrs. Phidilia who also gave a keynote address at the ceremony whose theme was centered on Education and more specially on girl child empowerment.
The nominations were carried on followed by online voting, both of which were by public participation prior to the announcements on the D-Day.
It will be interesting to note that prior to bagging this Award these queens of innovation had participated in various innovations fairs regionally, with the icing being the representation of Kenya & Africa at the Diamond Startup Challenge held in the USA this year- Processes through which they were meticulously guided and primarily mentored by Voi’s incubation centre, the Sote hub among other support structures.
All hail to the Queens of Innovation!
