Taita-Taveta is rapidly becoming a hub of everything new, nice and awesome. The growing pace of infrastructures directly affects the rate at which new revelling spots sprouts, which in turn positively affects the local entertainment scene. And this hasn’t gone unnoticed as the annual Kenya Coast Music Awards has nominated quite a number of 006ers to battle out with other coasterians.
Just to mention but a few, Dokta Dambell, arguable the funniest Taitan, has been nominated in three different categories; Male host, Most influential and Mc of the year while his show, the Kifado Family Show was nominated for the mainstream show of the year award. Actor Mwalimu, also of the Kifado Family Show was nominated for the best actor of the year award.
In the music scene, roars from Tsavo earned The Lions of Tsavo three nominations for Best video of the year, group of the year and video of the year for their hit “Ambitions” while member Machilla got nominated for Best dancehall artist of the year.
Other nominations are Mashujaa theatre Group- Most hardworking band of the year, Rosewood- best night club of the year, Caridiac Poet, Best Male artist of the year, Yuck Family – best hip-hop artists of the year, Shado B- best gospel artist, Heavy G and Director Lamar for best audio and video producers of the year respectively. Scally Music’s ‘Deka’ was nominated for Best Gospel song of the year while Djs Kijana and Dolla Pappi will battle it out for best freelance Dj of the year. Blogger Jasper Maza was nominated for blogger of the year alongside yours truly voi2day.
The only thing that stands between this array of talents and their various prestigious awards is you… Yes YOU!
