The name Marcus Mwakwari is mostly associated with the Red Cross society as he is one of the most vocal volunteers of the organization. He has volunteered with the society for about 10 years and has participated in various programs around the county. He is well known for being part of the response team at Taita Taveta County as well as holding sensitization programs especially in schools.
Last Saturday 21st September 2019 he was awarded the prestigious A. A. Molu Life Achievement Award Taita Taveta Chapter for the outstanding work he has done and his resilience in touching lives through volunteerism. The A. A. Molu award is given to a person who has overcome insurmountable challenges while volunteering with Kenya Red Cross. The individual is also required to have shown great devotion consistently.
Speaking to Marcus earlier today he says “God has really seen me through. I have been to some life threatening and traumatic missions and he has kept me alive. Many thanks to my friends, family, and colleagues for the support they have given me. Together with other members of the society we founded Red Cross in Taita Taveta County and I feel honored for being awarded the highest award in Kenya Red Cross for my service in the past 10 years.”
A big congratulations to Mwakwari.
