MEET BRIAN KAZUNGU-The gentleman who developed the android TTUC APP

BRIEFLY ABOUT YOU
I am Gisore Brian, from Nyamira County I reside at Langata, Nairobi and currently I study at Strathmore University pursuing Bachelor in Business Information Technology.
BRIAN KAZUNGU- BRAYO

During the day I work on apps then as from 6 pm I get to class till around 9pm

THE APP YOU’VE DEVELOPED ABOUT TTUC IS ALREADY THE TALK OF CAMPUS…AND SEEMS TO BE TAKING GUYS BY SURPRISE. IN YOUR OWN WORDS BRIEFLY TELL ME ABOUT THE APP
The TTUC app is an android web host app which runs on all android phones. It enables students to access the official Taita Taveta University College. It’s free on the android play store
WHY DID YOU CREATE AN APP FOR THE INSTITUTION AFTER YOU LEFT IT
TTUC taught quite much and I still consider it my school. I have many friends over there, therefore, am still part of TTUC family.
I developed the app entirely with no aim of selling it or making any profit.
WHAT WAS THE INSPIRATION BEHIND THE IDEA?
It began when I joined Strathmore. I was inspired by some students who were ahead of me and were gurus in the field of app development.
I created this app simply because I wanted to make students access the school website easily
What inspired me was a certain friend of mine who told me that he will only access the school website when there will be an app hosting the school website. So I was motivated to make the app
WHAT NEXT? ANY PLANS FOR THE APP? AND DO YOU HOPE FOR FINANCIAL RETURNS ON THIS?
Meanwhile, I have sent links to some students and posted links it on the campus Facebook pages and groups.
It is in the app market for free
SO WAS THIS YOUR FIRST APP?
No I have made like 6 apps and 5 games initially… Am still working on my games and other apps, the latest trending app I made was the sportpesa which is doing well in the market
The Sportpesa app is currently top 100 in best apps in Kenya.

HOW MUCH FOR INSTANCE DO YOU GET FOR THAT?
I wouldn’t like to reveal the actual amount though one normally gets revenue at the end of the month… plus many companies want me to sell them the app or develop them such and several others

WHAT ARE YOUR RATES/CHARGES ON THE APPS YOU DEVELOP ANYWAY?
For big firms it ranges between 90,000 to 120,000 .  For friends I can do between 6k and 16k.  Basically the field of IT has got more opportunities and is very lucrative I can bare you witness

WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO DEVELOP AN APP?
All one needs besides the technical and coding skills is just a laptop with android studio or visual basic enterprise 2015 or any other app development software , Register as a developer with any platform of your choice and he/she is good to go.
Currently am in android and windows… i will venture into IOS soon

FINAL WORDS TO OTHER DEVELOPERS OUT THERE, STUDENTS, OR ANYONE INTERESTED…
It’s never that hard as long as you are patient and passionate.
About the TTUC app, I encourage all TTUC comrades to download it and rate it. Let’s all respect diversity and do what you are good at and give it your best.
I got an offer from a certain app company from Spain… they are advertising my apps for the next two months free because of the above I believe.
THANKS
