There is this group Halisi, I won’t lie personally, up until the weekend I had never heard of them then I stumble on Avocado(not the fruit, but their song released last week). Yeah avocado I know right I really did not expect it but wow.
So, Halisi the band is a trio of three guys who met in campus and who had deep love for music. The inception of the band was back in the year 2014 and they have released two songs with a few others being chini ya maji. The uniquely dressed guys give a taste of the next generation music as they produce Afro-Pop music that is sensational and up-beat. The guys are clearly in tune with their roots as they produce music that resonates with the African nature in each of them.
The sauti hit makers come across as exciting and unique set of characters with their attire that is fun and brings out a playful side of the trio. Have you seen them perform though? I watched one of their performance and I swear I felt that performance to my core, the way they sing, move and their voices, but do I say. These guys are dope. They definitely seem to be the next band to watch out for after Sauti-sol and H_art the band. The trio seem to be bringing a new sound to the market with beats that are not only danceable but will keep you going back for more and more. They are sharing the African flavor with the world with quite the twist to it.
So, what about Avocado, Avocado is a romantic song that is off the charts. The song is a complete cliché but absolutely sweet. The lyrics are on fire and my body was swaying to every beat. It is absolutely exhilarating as you hear the tune and rhythm that are quite ear-worthy. The song is an expression of love and the persona cherishing their love. The chorus however is crazy as they sing “if you don’t mind let me see you hapo kando…change your life let me be your avocado”. Well with the avocado sensation in the country I feel like they just got it right as we all love a bit of avocado in our meals, don’t we?
