Open Letter to the Ladies:Unleashing your potential.

Most of the times we feel like we are doing too much but it turns out that the people around us believe that we can be more, we can be great or even better that we already are. Maybe it is true maybe it is not but when we look at it in a different perspective they might be seeing what we ourselves don’t have an opportunity to see. Have you heard men talk about finding their own Mitchell Obama? Why would they want their future wives to be like Mitchell? Or maybe why would they always refer to her? Sometimes when you dating someone and they say they want you to be their Mitchell you would not understand why or maybe you will think he sees less in you or maybe what you are doing is not satisfactory to what he wants you to do. Hey ladies this is not an insult it is more like he wants you to unleash that potential that you are sitting on, he sees a woman more than what you are. It is a wakeup call.

It being said alone will not make you go that extra mile, it is you believing that you got greatness within you that will enable you take the first step. To believe is also a step and not many of us believe in themselves but is also a process to believe and it is waking up every morning telling yourself that you can and you are better than anyone and walking with your head high with confidence on your sleeves. Seems easy but how many can always remember to do that small task? Not so many I believe but keep reminding yourself each and every day that you were born for greatness and your purposed in this life is to be great. I was once told that if you want to be great act and dress like you are already great. It already sets the pace for your brain that what am aiming is to be great.

Some off us women believe we can be more but are very lazy to be what we aspire to be. That’s a shame and a disgrace not only to the woman family but also to oneself. The reason as to why men will always be presidents and great people is that they do not bluff they stand up and deal and they will keep on being all this if we do not wake up from the potential we are sitting on.  We should be ready to follow steps of great women like Mitchell Obama or Oprah Winfrey or even Hillary Clinton name them the list is endless.

How do you unleash your potential?

  • You have to first set the goals that you want to achieve not too high and also not ambiguous. You should set goals that you believe you can achieve. Am not saying that you should not set high goals but first try and set goals that seem reachable that can be done with the resources available to you.
  • We are surrounded with a lot of negative energy it can be your workplace, at home, your friends or even your partner. What you should do is try as much as possible to feed your soul with positive vibes that will push you into working on the betterment of yourself.
  • None of us likes to be critiqued neither do I but it is from the criticism we get that we notice we need to do something more that will kill away the criticism. Trust me critics will be there everywhere you go. They follow you like a plaque but it annoys so much and this will force you to go back to the negativity you are trying to burry. Never take criticism seriously sometimes always brush them off and always do what you believe is right.
  • Have you ever heard of soul searching having some alone time with yourself somewhere quiet where you get to talk to yourself? This gives you opportunity to communicate with that person within the person that not everyone gets a chance to see. Doing this will give you new energy that you will need to meet up the goals you have set.
  • Do not rush when it comes to accomplishing those goals. For babies to learn to walk they began with taking small baby steps. So you should also do the same take small steps not forgetting that within the steps you make there are going to be challenges that will need to be handled to get to the next one. So always have a plan of how you will tackle all those challenges. Most of us give up when they encounter problems but remember that it is from the failures that we become champions if only we keep pushing too hard.
  • Let us not forget to celebrate each achievement we get. Appreciate yourself pat yourself and say well done to you for a good job. That way you will get to the next step with great motivation.

It is time we women wake up and join men in this race to greatness. It only needs pushing oneself and surrounding yourself with positivity. I hope we will keep up to that and be the Mitchells to our Obamas.
