Sol Generation, they may not be the newest kids in the block but this whole thing is blowing the roofs off. So the year started with Bensoul taking us up with Lucy and Kenya went crazy. Admittedly I was one of those Kenyans I think I had the song on replay for quite a while. Star crazy is what I call it, Lucy could be heard in houses, clubs, salons, barbers shops, and still we could not get enough of it. Why, the music was sensational, the lyrics amazing and what can I say it had content.
A little while later, Bensoul was back again with favorite song giving fans the laid back beat that resonates quite well with everyone who heard it. Then there was the video which I can say was quite impressive and deep down I could see him hitting the sky with his sensational music.
At this moment in time I knew sol generation was about to make history.
I did not see extravaganza coming though, now that was a surprise. It started with the hype on social media sites, and deep down I was like I can’t wait for this song. When the day finally came I was hooked, I was constantly on you tube listening to the various blend of voices, the foreign rumba beat that has been lost to our ears and the tunes that make me want to swing. It became an instant hit with people both from Kenya and beyond recognizing it for the hit that it is.
After that we obviously thought they were done, but guess what Nviiri the Storyteller released his first single with Sol generation this week and I can assure you this is another hit song. The song “pombe sigara” is a message with awesome beats and a great tune. Did I mention the lyrics, check them out!
Sol generation is the future of music in this country, just watch them.
