Sote hub set to to hold national high schools innovation Challenge in voi, Taita Taveta County.

Once again, Sote hub, the voi based start up hub is holding their annual high school innovation fair on Saturday, 13th July, 2019. This will be made possible by the strategic partnerships with and support of  the VSO Taita Taveta Chapter, Base Titanium and EWPN.
Set to take place at Coast Institute of Technology, this 5th edition has attracted over 50 high schools across the nation with 35 startups aiming for the final prizes on the d-day , kicking off at 8.00a.m.
This edition themed #innovation4change , throws a challenge to the young minds to creatively conceptualize and develop impactful and problem innovations in and around the SDG scopes. Of course this has also been made possible with the guidelines presented by the mentors at the hub, the supporting VSO volunteers as well us various patrons in their respective schools

It has been indeed been a series of preparations spread across the last 6 months that will eventually culminate with a diverse showcase on student booths in the morning hours and various stage presentations in the afternoon hours.
Meticulous judgements shall be spearheaded by a bench of judges drawn from diverse tech, academic and entrepreneurial back grounds.
Among the top prizes, there is an inclusion of a trip to the USA as a motivating factor for more exposure and connections in line with the start up culture.

Ahead of the challenge going down this weekend, the Sote  Hub director Mr. David Ogiga says,
” collectively we look forward to a whole lot of exciting presentations and we strongly believe the contestants this time will be able to replicate the feats achieved by the likes of Ukulima Digitec and the Ndovu kit founders in the previous editions”
It is set to be a weekend packed with worthy exhibitions, connections, transformative conversations and life changing innovations.
